Abul Gheit: Foreign policy seeks restoring balance between Israel, Palestine

"The foreign policy of Egypt has been seeking to help Palestinians restore balance with Israel throughout the past 15 years"said Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul-Gheit.

"However, the Palestinians themselves did not help Egypt to achieve this goal," he added, saying that neither foreign policy nor diplomacy are to blame for the stalled peace process on the occupied territories which came to a deadlock after the eruption of the Palestinian situation.

He asserted that Egypt preserves the unity of the Arab world and challenges anyone who questions its politic's.

"The gravity of the Egyptian role confirms with the goals it is currently trying to achieve," he added, noting that "those who demand that Egypt sends troops and spend millions of dollars to interfere in a conflict, should rethink it over as the Egyptians will not accept such a thing".
