Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul Gheit on Wednesday 8/8/2007 underlined the importance of following up the outcome of Arusha hosted meetings of Darfur rebel groups that wrapped up on Monday.

Abul Gheit in press statements said that the meetings constituted a cornerstone for efforts by the UN and AU peace envoys to Darfur in a bid to establish peace in the western Sudanese region.
