Abul-Gheit leads Egypt's delegation to Islamic countries foreign ministers' conference

Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul-Gheit said that Egypt will submit a draft resolution calling for combatting the terrorists who use the Internet in their contacts, to the conference of the foreign ministers of the Islamic countries.

Abul-Gheit said that the draft resolution in case of being adopted will represent a big restriction to the terrorist groups and will undermine their criminal actions.

The Foreign Minister said that the conference will also seek to issue a resolution aiming at combatting the international terrorism and calling anew to convening an international conference under the auspices of the United Nations to lay down a definition of terrorism.

Abul-Gheit said meetings of the Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) in Islamabad on May 14-15 will take up important issues.

Moreover, in press statements, Abul-Gheit said that the participants will probe the Arab issues, with emphasis on Al-Quds topic.

They will also deal with the situation in Iraq, Afghanistan and Somalia together with terrorism and anti-Islamism.

The conferees will also discuss means of offering assistances to the Palestinian people, he added.

Within the framework of the Egyptian wish to strengthen the joint Islamic action, Abul-Gheit will submit a bill to the Conference welcoming the efforts exerted by Cairo and Al-Azhar Universities to prepare studies on launching the first satellite for monitoring the crescents as a prelude to unifying the Islamic timings of feasts, occasions and calendar.
