Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul-Gheit on Thursday 12/4/2007 expressed wary regarding the negative developments in the Sudanese-Chadian relations as a result of the late clashes between Sudanese and Chadian troops.
He called on the two parties for self-restraint and rationale thinking with such a crisis to preserve the neighborhood and historical relations between them.
Abul-Gheit pointed out the necessity to commit to the Tripoli agreement between Sudan and Chad to put off irritation and resume their security cooperation at the joint borders.
On the other side, Abul-Gheit received on Thursday 12/4/2007 Uzbek Minister of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade Elyor Ganiyev currently visiting Egypt.
They discussed preparations for Uzbek President Islom Karimov's coming visit to Egypt on April 17 through 19.
Abul-Gheit and Ganiyev also discussed means to cement Egyptian-Uzbek relations in trade and investments domains.
Abul-Gheit also discussed with the Uzbek minister cooperation in the scientific, technological, technical, agricultural and health domains, as well as the exchange of expertise between the two countries.
They discussed the outcome of the fifth session of the Egyptian-Uzbek joint committee held in Tashkent early March 2007.
Abul-Gheit said the two countries were keen on expanding cooperation in various domains, pointing out that President Karimov's visit and his talks with President Mubarak would help cement political cooperation between the two sides.
