Egypt appealed to the international community and organizations, particularly the countries responsible for planting mines in the Egyptian territories to forward technical and material support for removing millions of mines.
The step is necessary to enable Egypt to carry out the development plans and avert more harms affecting the citizens, said Ambassador Alaa' Al Hadeedy, the press spokesman of the Foreign Ministry marking the World Day on helping remove mines.
There are more than 20 million mines and other explosive bodies that had been planted in the Egyptian territories by foreign parties during World War II.
