Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul-Gheit voiced on Sunday 18/3/2007 rejection of an Amnesty International (AI) statement on human rights.
Egypt considered the statement issued by Amnesty International (AI) on the Egyptian human rights changes "tutelage" of the Egyptian people.
Abul-Gheit said the constitutional amendments will be put to referendum for Egyptians to make their own decision in this regard after constitutional changes are ratified by the People's Assembly.
No foreign parties have the right to criticise, review or comment on the amendments to the Egyptian Constitution, he stressed.
The Egyptian top diplomat made it clear that some organisations issue statements on human rights containing some positive aspects, but defending rights should not be expanded to interference in states' internal affairs.
