Spokesman of the Foreign Ministry Alaa el-Hadidi confirmed that the Foreign Ministry is currently investigating the Israeli documentary, the Spirit of Shaked, recently broadcasted by the Israeli television on the killing of Egyptian PoWs and studying it from all its legal points. "An issue of this nature should be handled in a wise way to guarantee that the legal rights of the Egyptians are best served," he said. For its part, The Council's Committee on Arab and Foreign Affairs and National Security under Ambassador Mohamed Bassiouni continued sessions on a controversial on such issue. The members said that killing Egyptian POWs did not start in 1967, but it dated back to the 1956 war, noting that victims were thousands not only 250. Members of the committee also asked Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul-Gheit to attend its meetings to brief the members on the latest developments in that score. |
