The Finnish film "Letters to Father Jacob" won the Golden Pyramid prize.
Director Mona Achache received the Silver Pyramid prize for the French film "The Hedgehog."
The prize for Best Actor was shared between Egypt's Fathi Abdel-Wahab for his role in film "Nile Birds" and India's Subrat Dutta for contribution to movie "Madholal Keep Walking."
The Egyptian and Indian actors were awarded for their sustained and convincing performances portraying men up against life's travails with the pain and humor inherent in that.
The Prize for the Best Screenwriter (Saad El-Din Wahba Prize) went to Klaus Haro for the Finnish film "Letters to Father Jacob." The movie is produced by Risto Salomaa.
Argentina's Director Gonzalo Calzada grabbed the Best First work of a Director (Naguib Mahfouz Prize) for his film "Luisa."
The Russian film "One War" got Youssef Chahine Prize for Best Artistic Contribution.
The Prize for the Best Arabic film, worth 100,000 Egyptian pounds, was presented to the Palestinian film "Amreeka".
The film is directed by Cherien Dabis and produced by Christina Piovesan.
The Golden Prize of the Feature Digital films went to the Philippine film "The Rapture of "Fe" directed by Alvin B. Yapan and produced by Alemberg M. Ang.
The Silver Prize of the Feature Digital Films was shared by the Indian movie "First Time" directed and produced by Krishnan Seshardi Gomatam and the French film "Exile in Paris" directed by Ahmet Zirek and produced by Ahmet Zirek.
